Jewel Park real estate in the Barrington Village is one of the first planned communities within the Barrington IL Real Estate area that was planned and developed in the 1920's. Notice the name and for a quick history lesson the community of Jewel Park was actually planned for the employees of the Jewel Tea company (Jewel Grocery Stores) when it relocated it's headquarters from Chicago to Barrington. That's the explanation of where the community got it's name and since the community was planned with a Park like setting, Jewel Park makes perfect sense.
There is a wide variety of homes built from the 1920's all the way to brand new construction and it is definitely not cookie cutter real estate that can easily be valuated. Here are the three most recent sales in Jewel Park:

Notice in the tables above that the contracts that make up the Sold Price are from the Final Listing Price and not the Original Listing Price. You'll notice on the Jewel Park homes that had a lower sales price that they had a much longer Market time and a big factor in that is because the Original List Prices started off too high. (Our experience with working with several real estate buyers over the years is that the longer a property is on the market, real estate buyers have a perception that something is wrong with the property and won't even view the property.)
If you take a look at our Barrington Real Estate report for Year to Date, you'll notice the same general statistical numbers for Barrington real estate Sales Prices to Final List price ratios that hover in the 95% range.
What you'll also notice is that for the average sales prices in the Barrington Area, that recent Jewel Park real estate Sales are below the average sales prices for the Barrington real estate area in general. $505,000 in comparison to $683,000 that includes Barrington area condominium sales. That's quite a big difference and should spotlight that the values for Jewel Park real estate are very good when you take into the consideration the entire Barrington real estate area.
However, it's not as easy as just averaging the last three sales to come up with a price for Jewel Park real estate. The square footages, lot sizes, location, and condition of the property are all vastly different throughout the community. Some Jewel Park homes have been updated, some have not. Some of the homes built in the 1920's have been recently completely updated and some of the Jewel Park homes built in the 1980's have not.
What's so unique about Jewel Park in Barrington is the wide variety of homes. You can find some Vintage Barrington homes located on Sycamore Rd. all the way to newer homes including one under construction on Walnut Rd. The highly desirable factors include location within the Barrington Village, nearby parks including the brand new $12 Million dollar Citizens Park and mature tree lined streets planted when the community was originally planned in the 1920's. 80+ year old trees just can't be replaced and what we particularly enjoy about the community is the thoughtfully planned out lot locations within Jewel Park.
